Join us for Owatonna Business Women's October membership meeting. This month we'll hear from Michelle Redman, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Minnesota, who will share about new middle school volunteer opportunities with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
We all know middle school can be a challenging time for young people. Big Brothers Big Sisters has made an effort to match more middle school age youth with positive role models to help navigate the middle school years. Big Brothers Big Sisters has two new programs: REACH and AVID. Both programs match local middle school students with local business people and both meet two times per month for 30 minutes during the school day.
Activities are provided to the mentor so there is little to no prep time for the volunteer. The REACH program meets at Owatonna Middle School and concentrates on goal setting, time management and self-confidence. AVID is a 100% virtual program and is centered around college and career readiness. The AVID volunteer can mentor right from their desk. Learn more about both opportunities and consider how you could make a difference.
OBW CLOTHING! Besides a great program and networking, we'll also have new OBW clothing samples on display at this month's meeting. You can see what sizes work for you with some great new OBW pieces from The Hat Chic. Don't miss this opportunity to try on and order some new OBW swag!
