Mary will lead a conversation about mental health in our society. She will review basic mental illness, focusing on specific symptoms, and the impact they have on individuals in the community, as well as ourselves. The group will have the opportunity for discussion about the stereotypes and myths that we hold as a society. We will delve into the impact of mental illness and our common beliefs about certain populations, specifically women in the workforce. Mary will assess the ways we can de-stigmatize mental illness and assist in identifying ways we can care for our mental health and cope with any symptoms we may experience. This will be an interactive discussion that will reveal the commonalities we experience among ourselves and across demographics. This will not be a lecture--come prepared to share, discuss, support and learn together.
