Two well-established and respected non-profits, the Steele County Food Shelf and the Steele County Clothesline ( Unique Finds), have joined forces and merged. They have now formed one new organization-Community Pathways of Steele County. The merger was effective January 1st, 2020. It is validations of the teamwork and collaborative efforts that have been taking place between these two organizations over the past several years. Nancy Ness and Maureen Schlobohm will discuss how this merger benefits the people of Steele County and what we can do as a group and individually to continue our support of this stellar organization.

Nancy Ness is a Co-Executive Director of Community Pathways of Steele County. Prior to this position, she worked as the Executive Director for the Jefferson County Chapter of the American Red Cross in Southern Illinois. Her love of working in the non-profit world brought her back to the work in 2016. She is married to Mike Pearson. Together they have five children and four grandchildren (all girls!) whom they adore.

Maureen Schlobohm is a Co-Executive Director of Community Pathways of Steele County. She held the position of Director for Steele County Clothesline since July of 2015, prior to the merger. She has worked in the non-profit world in Steele County for more than 20 years. Her love for the people of this community and the joy of helping others is what keeps her going. She is married to David Schlobohm, a native of Owatonna. They have two children and finally have a grandchild-their pride and joy!

Since we are planning to meet virtually in December, Annie Granlund is arranging a drop off site for our members only at Owatonna People's Press, 135 Pearl Street, Owatonna MN 55060. The drive begins 12/7-12/16. Be sure to have donations dropped by end of day on 12/16.  Members can feel free to share what our board is doing and collect items from your friends/family and drop it off yourself for them as a OBW member.

Look for the blue awning on Oak Avenue on the west side of our building along the parking lot. The door is a bit tricky, so you just have to jiggle the handle and put some weight in it :) Be sure to wear a mask when delivering items. If there's an issue with the door, call Annie during business hours 9:00 am-5:00 pm, 507-444-2378. If you'd like to email Annie and make arrangements with her for drop off, her email is: mailto:annie.granlund@apgsomn.com

A box will be inside and labeled "OBW Community Pathways Drive"

Items to consider for donation- personal toiletry items for the women of our community. This could include tampons, pads, shampoo/conditioner, facewash, hand and body soap, tooth paste etc.  If you prefer to donate with a financial gift, please go directly to the website. Once our member drive is completed, both Annie Granlund and Rachel Miller will bring items to Community Pathways.

Looking ahead to 2021:

Our presenter for January is Tracy Bjerke. She is hoping to collect information from our membership that will help her prepare for the presentation. Below, you'll find her greeting to us as she looks forward to the January meeting.

Hello,

In preparation for my presentation at the January meeting, I would love to learn more about your nutrition concerns. If you would take a few minutes to fill out this survey over the next 2 weeks, I would greatly appreciate it. I look forward to sharing information with you about Intuitive Eating.  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3BKXYPS
