Learn Together: Conflict Acceptance Resolution
About 99% of the time it’s easiest to not confront a situation — most people tend to prefer to avoid conflict. There’s a science behind it! This month, we’ll spend some time learning about what’s happening in our brains and bodies when we’re debating whether or not to provide feedback to someone else.
We’ll talk about the three common styles of dealing with conflict (confident, passive, avoidant) and together we’ll explore the book “How to Say Anything to Anyone” to learn some tactics we might use to not only more confidently step into difficult conversations, but also accept conflict as a natural part of our relationships with others.
We encourage people to pick up a copy of How to Say Anything to Anyone by Shari Harley (it is also a great audiobook!) to get a jump start on the conversation — though reading the book ahead of time will not be necessary to benefit from the discussion.
